The Centerpoint Knights would host three nights of football games at Centerpoint’s Rosboro Stadium. First on Monday night would be against Bismarck in a JV game where the Lions would bring their entire Senior High squad. The first quarter of play the Lions would place the only score. With 7:47 remaining in the second quarter the Knights would tie the game up at eight points each. The Lions would answer back with 5:09 in the second quarter with another touch-down of their own. At the end of the first half the score was Lions-14 to Knights-8. In the second half the Knights would only be able to score once and take the lead in the third quarter with 5:55 remaining. The Lions would be able to capitalize on two Knights mistakes to end the game by Lions 26 to Knights-15.

Thursday evening the 3A 5 Conference games would begin the both the Seventh grade and Junior High teams. Both the Knights Seventh Grade and Junior High teams would enter the game with a 1 and 1 record. The Knights Seventh Grade team would start off the first half with a commanding lead of 22-0. In the second half of play with a change up in the quarterback position from Keenan Owens to Lance Chambers. With only 9:58 remaining in the game Keenan playing in the backfield would receive a pass and take in for a touch down and then Jarrod Graves would follow up with a run around the end for the two extra point to end the scoring for the game. Final score Bismarck 7th grade-0 to Centerpoint-36.

The Junior High game between the Bismarck Lions and Centerpoint Knights would have the Knights taking a first half lead be a score of 22-0. In the second half the Knights would play the clock to end the nights with their second victory of the season and start of their 3A 5 Conference schedule with a victory. Final score Bismarck Lions-6 to Centerpoint Knights-22.

Friday night the Senior Knights would play host to the Murfreesboro Rattlers as they would play out the third game in the schools schedule. The Knights record coming into the nights game was 0-2. The game is between the only two Pike County Football school and with the knowledge that the Knights 7th grade and Junior High teams had posted win’s at Murfreesboro the previous week the pressure was on both teams for the win. Plagued with large penalty’s in the first half of play the Knights end the first half of play with score of 7 to 0 in favor of the Knights. The Knights would score once more in the third quarter, before the Rattlers would start to drive the ball up and down the field, with mistakes by the Knights assisting in the Rattlers scoring drives. With ll:29 minutes remaining the score would be Knights 14 to Rattlers-19. With a long yardage kick-off return by Knights Dillon Shaw to fire up the Knights, with having to turn the ball over to the Rattlers in the end. The Knights defense would fight back and would place the ball back into the Knights offense again. With short yardage the Knights quarterback would fake a hand off to Jantzen Bradford with two blocker in front of him only to find the quarterback still had the ball going around the other size in for a touch down. For the extra point the Knights would call for a quarterback keeper around the right side once more for two points. The Knights defense would slow down the game and with 1:37 remaining the Knights would gain ball control again and play the clock down as the Rattlers would use up all their time outs to end this night contest Murfreesboro Rattlers-19 to Centerpoint Knights-22

With the last step for the Centerpoint Knights in preparing for the up coming 2011 football season would be a trip to Spring Hill for a benefit game with the Spring Hill Bears. The scoreboard would be used in a regular game format, except (1) No kick-off's, (2) kicking for extra points would have no one rushing the kicker (3) on punts their would also be no rushing the receiver. The Knights would fumble the ball durning their first series of downs and the Bears would capitalize by returning it in a series of downs for six points. Before the first half was over the Knights would recover a fumbled ball and return it to the three yard line before being stopped. The coach staff would find out what they needed to work on so as to being ready for their season opener with Dierks on September 2 at 7:30 at Dierks. The Centerpoint Junior Knights will host the Dierks Outlaws on Thursday, September 1 with the seventh grade first and the Junior High game starting at 7:00 PM


On Monday, August 22 the Lake Hamilton Wolves would play host to the Cabot Panthers in a benefit game. The rules would follow a jamboree format where each team would get fifteen plays on offense, while the other team would be on defense. The Varsity squads would go first followed by each schools JV squads taking their turn. In the first series of downs the Wolves would strike first with a long pass reception all the way to the five yard line and then the Wolves would hit pay dirt swiftly. The extra point was good, but the kicker Daulton Derbyshire would get hit twice by on coming defenders before the first series of downs was over.


During Friday night Maroon and Gold game at Lake Hamilton (1) Cortez Hankins would slip through the denfesive line on several occasions for two or three yards each time right up the middle.


On Friday, August 26 would mark the Maroon and Gold games for both the Junior High and Senior High teams to show their skills for the student body, parents, grandparents and fans alike before their season opener on September 1, for both Junior High teams at Bryant starting times with be 5:30 PM for the eight grade team and 7:00 for the ninth grade team. The Senior High Wolves will play host to Little Rock Hall at Lake Hamilton on Friday, September 2 starting time will be 7:00 PM.
