the only men who have coached four Super Bowl winners.
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who tossed
45 TD passes with just six interceptions in leading the Packers to a
15-1 regular-season mark, has won the 2011 Associated Press NFL Most

Seattle; Jets running back Curtis Martin and longtime Saints tackle
Willie Roaf will be inducted in Canton, Ohio, this summer.

moved to 9-0 in the Southeastern Conference for the first time in
seven years while running its mark to 23-1 overall.

first 16 points. The Mavericks led narrowly 33-28 by halftime, and
Central Arkansas pulled into a tie three times in the second half,
the last time at 57. But Reed's basket with 5:40 left started an 8-0
Mavericks run that put it away.

remaining, but Louisiana-Monroe (2-22, 1-10) clawed to within 68-66
on a 3-pointer by Fred Brown with five seconds left.

KWXI Sports
for Saturday February 4th, 2012
BOSTON (AP) If you're looking for a Boston-New York Super Bowl
omen, maybe this is it. Paul Pierce scored 30 points and Ray Allen
had nine of his 14 in the final quarter as the Boston Celtics
rallied from a 12-point deficit to beat the New York Knicks, 91-89
for their seventh win in eight games.
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) Because they got so much work in during this
week's practices, the New England Patriots moved their walkthrough
session up to Friday and plan only a picture-taking session today at
the site of Sunday's Super Bowl 46. The New York Giants plan a brief
walkthrough this morning and coach Tom Coughlin (KAWF'-lihn) says
he'll give his team this afternoon off.
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) The NFL still would like to place a team in the
Los Angeles market, but doesn't plan any expansion any time soon and
is not wild about moving existing franchises. That's the word from
NFL Commissioner Roger Goddell (guh-DEHL'), who ruled out expanding
beyond the existing 32-team league any time soon.
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) Of the roughly 3,200 fans who found themselves
scrambling in last year's seating fiasco at Cowboys Stadium outside
Dallas, 246 took the NFL up on its offer of a ticket to Sunday's
game in Indianapolis between the New England Patriots and the New
York Giants. The rest accepted a financial settlement from the NFL,
plan to go to a future Super Bowl or are suing the league.
LOS ANGELES (AP) Lance Armstrong says he is looking forward to
continuing his life without what the seven-time Tour de France
champion calls "this distraction." He comments came after the
federal government says it's dropping its two-year doping
investigation and will not file any charges against Armstrong, who
steadfastly has denied using performance-enhancing drugs.
ARKANSAS-ROAD WOES
UA looks to bolster NCAA case with road win at LSU
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) Arkansas put itself on the NCAA tournament
radar with its win over No. 25 Vanderbilt.
It was the Razorbacks' third win over a ranked opponent this season,
improving them to 16-0 in Bud Walton Arena.
Coach Mike Anderson knows for the Razorbacks (16-5, 4-3 Southeastern
Conference) to be seriously considered for the tournament, they must
first show they can win on the road where they are winless this
season.
Arkansas played well until late in a loss at Alabama last week, and
its next road test comes Saturday at LSU (12-9, 2-5). The Tigers
lost to the Razorbacks 69-60 on Jan. 14, but they played that game
without freshman forward Johnny O'Bryant, who had 12 points and nine
rebounds against Kentucky last week.
ESSEX HANDICAP
Alternation returns to Oaklawn for Essex Handicap
HOT SPRINGS, Ark. (AP) Alternation is returning to Oaklawn for the
first time since the 2011 Arkansas Derby to run in the Essex
Handicap.
The 4-year-old is an early 2-1 favorite for Saturday's $100,000 race
in Hot Springs. Alternation finished fifth last year's Arkansas
Derby and hasn't raced since a second--place finish at the Oklahoma
Derby last October.
Twice the Appeal was the early second choice at 5-2. Other horses in
the race include Color Me Blue and It Happened Again.
Post time for the first race is 1 p.m. Saturday. The Essex Handicap
will be the eighth of nine scheduled races.
ARKANSAS-TRACK
Ark. track teams travel for weekend meets
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) The University of Arkansas track and field
teams are on the road for separate meets this weekend.
The top-ranked men's team will be at the Annual Meyo Invitational in
South Bend, Ind., for a two-day meet on Friday and Saturday. The
meet is the first road trip of the season for the men's team.
The third-ranked women's team will be in New York for the Annual
Balance Collegiate Invitational that also is scheduled for Friday
and Saturday.
ARKANSAS-PRACTICE FIELDS
UA to add parking spots near practice fields
(Information in the following story is from: Northwest Arkansas
Times, http://www.nwaonline.com )
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) The University of Arkansas will add 217
parking spots beneath a pair of new outdoor football practice
fields.
The Northwest Arkansas Times reports Thursday (http://bit.ly/xPzduu
) that construction began on the site last year and eliminated
access to one of the campus's most popular parking lots.
The new fields are part of a project that will add 82,000 square
feet of building space to an adjacent indoor football facility.
The project originally called for a parking lot to be built under
the fields, but officials scrapped that idea because of cost.
With the new parking lot plan and other cost adjustments, the
project will cost an estimated $40.31 million. That's up from an
original estimate of $35 million.
The parking spots are expected to be available later this fall.

SIGNING DAY-ARKANSAS
Arkansas looks to build on success on signing day
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) Arkansas coach Bobby Petrino is expected
announce this year's recruiting class during a 4 p.m. news
conference.
But the Razorbacks missed out on one of their biggest targets early
Wednesday morning when Springfield (Mo.) Hillcrest wide receiver
Dorial Green-Beckham announced he was signing with Missouri.
Arkansas was ranked No. 5 to end last season, finishing 11-2 and
winning the Cotton Bowl over Kansas State.
The Razorbacks have won 21 games over the past two seasons, but they
must replace top receivers Jarius Wright, Joe Adams and Greg Childs.
The three combined for 141 catches and 2009 yards receiving last
season.
SIGNING DAY-ARKANSAS STATE
Arkansas State inks 27 in Malzahn's first class
JONESBORO, Ark. (AP) Arkansas State has announced the signings of
27 high school and junior college players.
The class is the first for the Red Wolves under coach Gus Malzahn.
Arkansas State went 10-3 and won the Sun Belt Conference last
season.
Malzahn, an Arkansas native, relied heavily on his roots,
particularly with a pair of transfers running back Michael Dyer
and offensive lineman Travis Bodenstein. Dyer transferred from
Auburn, where Malzahn was the offensive coordinator, while
Bodenstein left Kansas for the Red Wolves.
Both Dyer and Bodenstein are originally from Arkansas.
The bulk of the class is made up of high school players (22), while
five others come from the junior-college ranks. Five players were
offensive linemen.
Arkansas State reached the Godaddy.com Bowl last season, losing to
Northern Illinois.
SIGNING DAY-CENTRAL ARKANSAS
Central Arkansas signs 23, including QB transfer
CONWAY, Ark. (AP) Central Arkansas has announced the signing of 23
football players to national letters of intent.
The Bears, who finished 9-4 and in second place in the Southland
Conference last season, signed 20 newcomers and three mid-term
transfers who are already enrolled in school. One of those is
quarterback Jacoby Walker, who transferred to Central Arkansas from
Arkansas in December.
The other transfers are tight end Austin Haywood from Oklahoma and
Courtney Whitehead from Air Force.
Central Arkansas signed 11 players from Texas, seven from Arkansas,
two each from Oklahoma and Louisiana and one from Tennessee.
The Bears signed five defensive linemen, three wide receivers, two
cornerbacks, two safeties, two tight ends, one running back, one
quarterback and two all-purpose players.
Centerpoints Garrett Whitley signed a letter of intent to go to
